Ust-Luga Container Terminal is a joint project between Global Ports Group (80%), the leading marine terminal operator in Russia, and Eurogate (20%), the leading European container terminal operator. ULCT is the first "greenfield" container terminal in Russia designed and built in line with modern technical requirements for container handling. Since December 2018 the terminal has been handling coal. The coal project of ULCT has received all required environmental approvals – the site has all necessary equipment to minimize the environmental impact.
Infrastructure: site area 38,9 ha, capacity 440,000 TEU, coal handling capacity 1 mln tons, berth length 440 m, berth depth 13,5 m container yard capacity 7,500 TEU, reefer yard capacity 420 plugs, coal yard capacity 120,000 tons, railway front 3,232 m. Equipment: STS cranes, RTG cranes, RMG cranes, terminal tractors, fork lifts, front loaders, universal handling machines, bucket loaders.
